If you look closely, you will find some people who love to receive praise for their hard work, but not everyone can put in the required work to make what they do praiseworthy.
This is why people who are tagged as parasites are faulty. Even though they avoid work, they love to receive an acknowledgment from people.
Others are incompetent, so they try not to get too involved with work. Also, excuses can come from slobs to make their superior delegate their work to someone else, or they may be attracted to someone who will voluntarily take up their work all because they are trying to avoid work.
Basically, people who avoid work for no significant reason are lazy, and as you read on, you will get to know what to call someone who avoids work.
Someone Who Avoids Work Is Called
A person who avoids work shouldn’t be mistaken for someone who is not diligent. Although slobs come up with excuses that seem to be genuine, someone who is slothful may avoid work because they accept being swept away by distraction.
Just like them, so many other people have reasons why they avoid work. Underneath are some other names by which they can be called:
Is a person who stays away from work. Slobbers are unattractive and always unwilling to do work. What is more annoying about slobs is that they are messy.
For instance, they’ll soil the kitchen walls and get all the plates oily when they want to eat pancakes, but in the end, they’ll refuse to do the cleanup.
When they feel too lazy to make food, as usual, they’ll order food and leave the food packs on the dining table instead of washing or trashing them after eating.
To add to their irresponsible character, most slobs are obese. It is often generalized that their avoidance of work is due to their obesity, but it is as a result of their deliberate avoidance of work.
People who are greedy and withdraw from work but love praise or prefer to hide under the canopy of others are parasitic.
These types of people use house helpers or hard-working siblings as a shield for their laxity. They are not ready to do anything but are comfortable when others do the work.
Most of the time, they happily share the praise of work done as if they were diligent people, which they are not. Parasites are most prominent in teams.
They are team members who will prefer to pay for a general task to be done rather than participate. Most of the time, they give pitiful reasons or touching excuses.
When they do this constantly, then it’s definite that they are parasitic. Parasites enjoy moments when people attend to their to-do lists.
Although they have the intention of making waves, they feel others should do the work while they get the name or benefits, as the case may be.
These kinds of people always say things they should do but almost never do them. They repeat the process of postponing decisions over and over again.
And sometimes, it seems they never get tired of shifting so many things to do in the future when they won’t do any, obviously. Procrastinators are not goal-getters.
They hardly set goals as they know that they won’t accomplish them in time because they avoid work a lot and this may get them frustrated.
Procrastinators may not necessarily be tagged as lax people. Their only constant mistake is that they don’t do the things they ought to do on time because they avoid work.
Aside from avoiding work and delays in taking action, procrastinators are always easily distracted.
They may submit their tasks or achieve their goals when they have finally made the decision to work. Then they’ll stop being procrastinators.
An employer is expected to show mercy to an employee who has not completed their tasks for justifiable reasons, such as being ill, but this has to change in the case of a malingerer.
This is because malingerers seek when they want to do what they do best: avoid work. They falsify their physical, emotional, or even psychological well-being in order to get a favor from someone, like getting them to do their work.
Sometimes, they amplify their health in order to have valid reasons for their boss to assign the responsibility to someone else or to delegate their task to another personally.
The manner in which malingerers display their attitudes may be so annoying to the point that others feel they are faced with a mental disorder, but it is a deliberate action by them.
So, don’t be surprised if you see a colleague of yours who was given a time-out by their boss because they claimed to be sick among rioters. It is possible that they are malingerers trying to avoid work.
Michers are synonymous with truants. They don’t always act like they are under authority. They love to do things by themselves in a manner that benefits them, not minding if others are okay with it or not.
Because they avoid work, they may be absent from school or work without taking permission. Usually, their absence has no genuine reason in particular.
They simply don’t want to be a part of the work in progress or the work they are assigned to do.
In a bid to defend themselves, michers are not always truthful about the reason they absented themselves and didn’t do the work they were asked to.
Someone who is slothful is not deliberate about the things they are slothful about. They do not merely display laxity at work; they are unwilling to try something.
Slothful people have tons of excuses to present when they don’t do their work. But most of the time, they lack motivation or faith that what they want to engage in will be productive.
And because of that, they’ll refuse to put in the effort or the willingness to take action. These kinds of people choose to be inactive.
They get scared of things that are challenging, and if they are told to work on them, they’ll try by all means to avoid the instruction. Someone who is slothful does not want to do so much.
They prefer to sleep without blinking an eye throughout the day than go to school or the office because they don’t want any work like taking home questions from school or getting so much responsibility from their boss.
An insolent person tries to keep themselves away from work. They’ve got the habit of lazing around doing things, and they are great procrastinators.
Someone who is indolent is not always progressive, and when they are, they most likely make their progress in a very slow manner due to the fact that they intentionally avoid work.
If indolent people do not want to appear like they are completely trying to stay away from work, they will work while people are watching them, but the work stops immediately when people turn their backs.
They halt whatever it is they were doing because they deliberately avoid work.
Someone who is work-shy has placed themselves in a position where they are not so interested in work, so they tend to avoid it.
Some of them have built a mindset that work is burdensome and deprives them of some privileges, so they no longer work wholeheartedly.
These kinds of people are annoying to the brim. What makes them annoying is not simply the decision they’ve made to constantly stay away from work.
It is that they are too lazy to consider the fact that they can’t even get you a plate from the kitchen. They are either sitting or lying down all the time, and this is not due to their body size or poor health conditions.
They can’t stand upright for close to 30 minutes, nor can they exercise themselves. That’s the extent of their laxity.
A person can be extremely diligent. In fact, to the point that they will receive praise from others about their work.
But a layabout person, on the other hand, has the tendency to work hard, but they deliberately choose to exempt themselves from anything that will take their energy.
It could be that they choose to rest and then they overdo it, or they prefer to camp with friends rather than work, or they simply bring in an excuse from somewhere, not because they are busy but because they decide not to.
This means they are diligent people, but it is for nothing since they consistently avoid work.
Shirkers are usually given work to do, but they evade it/them. They hold what they want for themselves in high esteem.
Even much more than the responsibility given to them. And what is always on their mind is to avoid work.
People avoid working for different reasons. It could be that they feel like not doing it, they need to rest, they choose not to, or they are distracted by someone or something happening to them.
Slobs are clearly lazy people who come up with excuses for ill health to cover up their irresponsibility.
Whatever the excuse is for avoiding work, it has to be genuine because when the superior of the person who is indolent realize so, they may be dismissed completely from work or even miss opportunities they ought to enjoy.
